New running socks review!

Today I tested out abother pair of procompresion socks.  I have always worn Feetures and still will but these will be my new go-to pair...luckily they came in a two pack!  They are seamless and so soft and have special areas that are more cushioned (right where I normally get blisters). I am excited to try them out on a longer run!

  1. Better than toe socks?! Have you tried RoadRunner brand socks? Love those!

    1. You know I'm not really a fan of the toe socks. They are just okay for short runs! Will have to try the RR ones. 🖒

Ragnar Richmond Recap!

First Ragnar Trail relay is in the books and boy, was it an adventure!  Notice I said, "first"...I had originally thought I was "one and done" with these things (as I am with the full marathon) however, I think I could enjoy another go of one. Definitely a fan of the trail version and not interested in a road Ragnar though (the thought of sleeping in a van horrifies me more than camping!).  I think I need to wait til 2019 (or even 2020 ) though - not ready to train for another in 2018!  Gotta let the paint dry on this one...So, here's a detailed recap of our adventure:

Thursday 3pm-ish: 4 of us drove down to Richmond with all of the camping gear in order to set up our site and get checked in.  This was a great plan because we were able to scout out a site and set up before the rest of the team arrived the following morning. Our start time was one of the earlier times on Friday (10am) so we didn't want to be worried about setting up camp and then running our…

Brand New!

It has been so long since I've posted on my blog that I hardly even know where to begin. First of all - Summertime Shape up - which was my last post here, was way more than that!  I finished my 80 day Obsession last week and have to say that I feel completely transformed. It has not only changed my body composition from flabby to firm, but also I have entirely new outlook and mindset when it comes to my nutrition. For YEARS I have been running and exercising until the cows come home and have been in a plateau as far as my weight and mentality are concerned.  I started out this summer by going ALL IN on this Beachbody program, 80 Day Obsession. And by "all in" I mean, not just doing the exercise portion (which is what I have done in the past when doing these programs) but also drinking Shakeology each day, and using the colored portion containers religiously.  I was determined to make a change because what I had been doing was not working!  You cannot just work out or r…

Half Crazy and Countdown to Ragnar

Last weekend I completed my 10th Half Marathon.  It was the Trap Pond Half in Delaware.  Several friends ran it and 2 of my friends ran the 50K in honor of their 50th birthdays. Such a fun weekend with friends. My husband was there as well and was supposed to run the half (his first) with me but ended up injuring his foot playing basketball so was not able to race, which was a little dissapointing.  My friend Janet and I ran most of the race together (seen in pic above) and it was a flat, beautiful course. I should not have worn my trail shoes as they ended up giving me blisters and were not neccessary for this easy terrain.  I felt good until about the last 5k when the blisters started to bother me and I was just tired.  Doing 3 half marathons in such close succession I think was more of a challenge than I thought it would be.   It was a fun weekend though!

Now on to concentrating on the Ragnar Richmond Trail race...less than 2 weeks away!  Unfortunately, on Tuesday after the last h…
